The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of thinning treatments in pine stands in the Forest District Bogdaniec in 2009-2013. The study covered pine stands in the second and third age class, growing on habitats: fresh coniferous forest, fresh mixed coniferous forest, fresh mixed broadleaved forest and fresh broadleaved forest.  The direct costs of harvesting and tree skidding and received income from sale were analysed. The economic effectiveness of thinning treatments was defined per 1 ha stand and  1 m3 of harvested timber. Based on the research it differring levels of economic effectiveness of thinning treatments in individual years of the research period were found. Moreover, an increase of economic efficiency thinning treatments in relation to increasing age
of stand and increasing fertility of the habitat was observed. In the research period,  the highest profitability of tending operations was received by forest dictrict in a 41-50 year-old stands (per ha) and in 51-60 year-old stands (to count per 1 m3 of wood), as well as in stands growing on the habitat of fresh broadleaved forest.
