Background. The economic aspect plays a decisive role in the processing of round wood. In terms of available research results, the determinant of the rationality of processing is the utility of the product and its acquisition, and the use of available raw materials. Oakwood plays a dominant role among flooring materials, characterized by a corresponding wood drawing. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of the selection of processing methods on the production of wood friezes. In the group of raw oak raw materials with variable diameters, the acquisition of ordered semi-finished products often leads to a reduction in the material yield of the processing.

Material and methods. The results of the validation of oak wood processing in the system of typical and special processing methods have been verified.

Results. As a result of experimental processing, it was found that the type of cutting technology and the diameter of the raw material have a significant influence on the increase of the number of obtained semifinished products. Both the increase in diameter and the special processing method result in an increase in the material yield of radial friezes.

Conclusions. The production of multi-dimensional friezes significantly improves material performance. Correlation of the dimensional selection of raw material and the quality of manufactured semi-finished products with the processing method increases the use of roundwood.
