Rove beetles (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) of selected biotops of the Ujście Warty National Park
Abstract
Entomofauna of the Ujście Warty National Park is poorly known. The aim of the work was to identify groups of rove beetles (Staphylinidae) in forest environments (alder and riverside – alluvial forests) and non-forest (meadow and willow thickets, floodplains) of the Ujście Warty National Park.
The research was carried out from May to October 2007 at 4 control stations. Catch beetles in each biotops were made using the 5 Barber traps. In intimate conditions, the collected material was segregated and determined. The beetle communities are described by means of domination indices, frequency of occurrence, fidelity in relation to the environment as well as species richness (Margalef’s Index) and species diversity (Shannon-Wiener Index).
During the study, 620 individuals belonging to 41 species were caught. The most captured species is Aleochara brevipennis Grav. This species is most abundant in alluvial forests. Most species were found in willow thickets.
