The valuation of forest environment benefits is difficult due to their non-market nature. The aim of the study was to determine the non-market value of recreational benefits of the "Nad Tanwią" nature reserve, which is located in the Józefów Forest District (RDLP in Lublin). The research material consists of survey data from studies conducted in the months: May - September 2017. The survey covered 341 respondents staying on this area. The CART method was used for statistical analysis. The survey analyzed statistical questions regarding the declared value of compensation in exchange for resignation from rest in the reserve. The research used the WTA method, as a result of which the WTA model was built using a payment card. Almost 30% of respondents declared WTA. The total value of compensation amounted to PLN 6 727. The value of non-market benefits for the group of respondents was PLN 10.3 thousand and for tourists visiting the reserve during the year - PLN 7.55 million. The reserve is an important place of recreation for the local community, because the majority of respondents who expressed the desire to accept WTA came from the Lubelskie Province.
