Nematodes (Nematoda) are common soil organisms. We can find many parasitic species among them that feed on plant material. The main purpose of this study was to examine fauna of the Nematoda phylum in the forest nursery of the Ełk Forest Division. Analyses included counts and species analysis of nematodes found in soil samples. Research material was collected in May 2011. A total of16 nematode species from the Tylenchida order were identified, primarily Cephalenchus hexalineatus, Filenchus misellus and Paratylenchus straeleni. Moreover, members of five orders and two suborders were also recorded. The last part of this study was to establish trophic groups. Most of the species found were plant parasites and mycophagous nematodes, followed by bacteriophages. It is worth mentioning that a significant number of omnivores were found as well.
