THE INFLUENCE OF THE QUALITY OF PINE RAW MATERIAL FROM THE NOTEC FOREST ON ITS RATIONAL USE IN MECHANICAL PROCESSING
Abstract
In the Notecka Forest, the dominant species is Scots pine growing in the strongly dominant habitat of fresh coniferous forest (Bśw) and fresh mixed coniferous forest (BMśw). The aim of the study was to verify the quality and strength of pine sorties of mature stands of the 4th and 5th age classes. The specific qualities of the wood raw material were determined for stands on the habitat Bśw, BMśw, as dominant in the structure
of soil and moisture conditions. The raw material base with a significant level of abundance provides material for differentiated mechanical processing. The availability of wood with specific qualitative and strength characteristics affects the multiplicity of processing profiling. The influence of the qualitative characteristics of the wood material, as well as the uniform distribution of defects, affects the strength technological characteristics of pine wood of Bśw and BMśw habitats from the Notec Forest. This is confirmed by both lumber grading processes and laboratory tests.
