The literature on the subject contains a large number of studies analysing the volume and value of timber sales, mainly of valuable logs or non-indigenous tree species. However, there are no general analyses of the directions of timber sales and monthly sales fluctuations, which affect the stability of timber supply to the market and the stability of the entity’s revenue.
The aim of the study was to analyse the volume and value of timber sales in the Radom Forest District. Data on the volume and value of sales were sorted by tree species, taking into account the assortments and the distribution channels. The analysis covered the period from 2016 to 2020. The data required for the study were obtained from the IT system of the State Forests.
Between 2016 and 2020, a total of 261.1 thousand m3 was harvested in the Radom Forest District in final or intermediate cuttings and 38.5 thousand m3 in salvage cuttings. The total sales amounted to 297.1 thousand m3. In the surveyed forest district there were five timber distribution channels, with contract sales to domestic customers dominating. Stable timber supply to the market was also observed during the period of interest.
